Hi Jos,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings. I'm interested in downloading one of your demos. Do you explain your lighting setup in your video? If not, could you tell me what you do so I can try and reproduce the lighting in my own still life setup?
Sincerely - David
Hi David
ReplyDeleteAbove my still life I have 4 philips fluorescent tubes. 3 of type 950, 1 of type 965. So I have a 2 colored light source. On the canvas I use 5 solux bulbs at a distance of about 4 or 5 meters. I use a curtain to make shure the solux bulbs don't illuminate the setup, only the canvas (or panel as a matter of fact)....

ReplyDeleteHi Jos. Thank you so much for sharing this great knowledge. I am a real beginner but I am getting lots of inspiration from your video. I have some beginner questions if you don't mind though.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the jar top right of the video you wash your brushes once in a while, what is that?
And the secret medium you use on bottom left below your mineral oil, is it secret secret? Or can I find about it in other videos? I am downloading other videos too but I wanted to watch this cherry video first.
Hello, thnx I'm glad you like the videos!
DeleteI'm washing the brush in odorless mineral spirits. For medium I have been using equal parts stand oil and venice turp (both talens brand). But I switch now and then to try a different one. I'm trying equal parts stand oil and linseed oil now because the venice turp seems to dry quickly for some pigments.. But I'm not too shure about that yet.....
Nevermind sir! I found it in egg tutorial video. Hahaha. Thank you!
